Hey there Fashionistas/os! As a self-proclaimed Style Guru turned into an official one thanks to CollegeFashionista, I’m beyond excited for what summer 2016 will hold! I’m currently a sophomore at Georgia Southern University while I study marketing and fashion merchandising, so hopefully when I graduate I can find a career that incorporates my passion for business and fashion into one. When I’m not on campus, you can usually find me watching How I Met Your Mother or hanging out with some friends.
As cliché as it sounds, I’ve been obsessed with fashion since I was a little girl. I can remember drawing up what were supposed to be sketches of clothing designs, and I knew that when I grew up I was going to have a career in fashion. While things have changed and design is definitely not an option for me, I still have all the same fervor for fashion merchandising as I did when I was just a little girl drawing a sketch that was copied from my mother’s old issues of Vogue.
While I love the glamour of an intensely put together look from head to toe, I honestly tend to lean more towards casual outfits that allow me to be comfortable as well. I really enjoy having the ability to change up my style and not categorize it as one thing or the other; one day I could be very boho and the next I could be wearing a preppy ensemble. What I love most about fashion is the freedom to express who you are and how you are feeling that day through what you wear! The day we took these pictures, I felt like dressing up in something a little less casual than usual, so I’m pictured above in a rosy tank top with a scalloped hemline that I let flow loosely over my favorite new black ruffled shorts. I then paired this look with my favorite Steve Madden wedges and decided to throw on a Kendra Scott bangle, some hoop earrings and my go-to nameplate necklace, then voila! An outfit was made! I loved wearing these pieces together because it gave off a very chic vibe but I didn’t feel uncomfortable in the slightest. I also loved the idea of popping on a sandal in the morning to create an easy day-to-night look.
I’m extremely excited for this semester, and I can’t wait to be a part of the CollegeFashionista team! If you want to keep up with this Fashionista over the summer, be sure to check back every once in awhile for a new post!
