Hello Fashionistas and Fashionistos! It’s Alicia Bryan reporting on all my favorite trends again! This is my second semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista and I am super excited to be back.
I’m going into my second semester of my junior year at Siena College. I am a political science major with a minor in writing. Even though I have a serious love for politics, I pay attention to style and trends just about as much as I read the news (which is A LOT). When I’m not doing that, you can most likely find me doing research (political science thing), shopping, dreaming about traveling, cooking followed by eating (I’m really good at that) or, now that it is winter—skiing! Personally, my style is always changing and is always being influenced by a new muse or the latest seasonal trends. My advice is to pick a few signature items in your wardrobe that you love and make them apart of your personal style. My favorite wardrobe item is my London-inspired trench coat. It is the one item I wear most and makes every outfit I put on feel complete, like the one I am wearing here! I am also wearing corduroy leggings, a chunky knit sweater paired with a knit beanie and tan leather booties.
Style is not what other people see when they look at you or I. It’s what you see when you look in the mirror at yourself. It may sound cheesy, but look good in what you are comfortable in! If you wear outfits that you are not comfortable in, you will never find your style and never feel like yourself. Whether you are most comfortable in your lululemon leggings and a Patagonia or in high heels and blazer, make it your own.
As a writing minor, I really love being able to get the opportunity to combine my love for style and trends with my love for writing. I can’t wait for the style-filled semester to come!
