Finding your own personal style is an adventure. Simple? Retro? Eccentric? All of the above? That’s OK! Your style does not have to be simplified into one word. Personally, I can go from a pair of blue jeans, a T-shirt and Vans all the way to a pair of heeled booties, black skinny jeans and a super cute and intricate top. I can’t exactly put my finger on one adjective to describe my person style, and that is completely cool with me.
Hi, my name is Alicia! I am a newbie Style Guru and am so thrilled to be here! I am going into my third year of college at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and cannot believe that I am halfway done with school! I am a public relations major and a music industry minor whose studies are fueled off of coffee and super fun classes! If you asked me what my favorite hobby was, I would not hesitate to tell you that it would be going to concerts. I could go on and on about my passion for concerts, music and musicians, but that could take me a day or three.
I will admit, I sometimes struggle with showcasing my style with confidence. That is part of the reason why I decided to apply for this RAD opportunity. I know that CollegeFashionista will help me step out of my comfort zone and expand my love for fashion. I am eager and excited to get inspired!
As for my outfit, this one engulfs all of the aspects of what I would consider to be my overall personal style. High neckline tops are one of my favorite trends to wear; I find that they really flatter my body. The distressed, black skinny jeans are actually thrifted and one of my most successful DIY projects. I am all for “cheap to chic,” and these old school style Levi jeans really went from drab to fab. For the shoes, I went with a cage-like sandal to carry the details from head to toe. To accessorize, I added a floppy hat and some dainty jewelry pieces. Rings are a must in every one of my outfits! With this outfit, I really wanted to include pieces that showed the diversity in my personal style. It’s perfect for date night or a journey through your favorite city!
Don’t worry about finding one specific style for you. Dabble into a few different looks. If you like leggings and a baggy T-shirt with some fresh new Nikes—awesome! If you want to rock a girly dress and a pair of heels–go for it! There is never one word to describe your own style. If it takes eight words, then so be it!
I cannot wait to see how the way I describe my style changes and broadens throughout my Style Guru adventures!
