Hey there Fashionistas/os!
My name is Allisa Kliewer, and I’m finishing out my senior here at Iowa State University (go Cyclones)! I’m majoring in apparel merchandising and design—with a focus in creative and technical design. This is my first semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista, and I couldn’t be more excited!
Most people tend to have a specific personal style that they follow, whether it be girly, edgy, boho, grungy, sporty, etc. I suppose I just don’t discriminate against any specific style personas. Some days I feel like wearing floral rompers and chunky heels. Other days, you can find me in all black with a choker and dark lips. Plus, we all have our days (where we don’t really want to be seen) in our oversized T-shirts, athletic shorts and Birkenstocks. But no matter what persona I decide to pursue, black is always a staple in my wardrobe. They say you can never have too much black…until you color coordinate your closet and realize that it consumes three-fourths of your wardrobe. A lot of people also dress to fit in. I, on the other hand, like to dress to stand out. I like to try new styles and make things my own! I’ve even been known to quickly sew some of my clothing to change things up right before I go out.
As my friends, classmates and early morning Starbucks workers can attest to, I hardly ever sleep due to some pretty ambitious projects I take on during the school year. That being said, comfort and easy outfits are my best friend when it comes to my personal style during the week. So for this look I decided to pair a nude, striped bodysuit with a pair of black high-waisted shorts. I accessorized with a boyfriend denim jacket and black, lace-up, chunky heels. Of course, I can’t go anywhere without my Alex and Ani and Pandora bracelets! Definitely a quick, easy and very comfortable outfit for walking around campus.
I can’t wait to share more with you guys over the course of this semester! Make sure to follow me on CollegeFashionista and on all social media outlets to keep updated.
