Hello! My name is Allison and I couldn’t be any more excited to join the CollegeFashinoista team this semester! I am currently a sophomore attending the University of Minnesota and I’m majoring in retail merchandising with a minor in business management.
Growing up I always thought I would go into business when I was older, but after my first semester of college I quickly changed my mind. I realized that no matter what I did, my mind would always be directed towards fashion. I constantly find myself following fashion bloggers on Instagram, searching for the latest trends, and online shopping.
I have learned that being a college student living in the Midwest while also loving fashion can sometimes be a difficult task. It’s hard to showcase my style while going to class or anywhere around campus since four to five months out of the school year tend to consist of wearing a long, big parka to keep warm enough for the freezing temperature. My style ranges during these months from comfortable to trendy depending on where I’m headed.
When I’m not bundled up trying to stay warm and comfortable, I can be seen wearing my new favorite trend, a fur coat, as shown in the pictures. I often times pair my fur coat, or any coat or shirt for that matter, with one of my many pairs of black jeans (another obsession of mine). In this look I decided to wear a black velvet bodysuit and a silver double buckle belt with my black jeans. This belt adds more contrast between both of the black items. To complete this look, I wore my new Steve Madden velvet sneakers that can be worn with almost any outfit to add a little more color.
