Hello! My name is Allison Keck, and I struggle everyday trying not to spend my student loan money at the mall. I am obsessed with fashion. My style ranges from grunge to glitter. You will more than likely find me near the clearance rack looking for the best deals. If I am not at the clearance rack, I am on stage performing. As a musician I am constantly looking for new looks to wear on stage. I am excited to show off my ideas and inspirations this semester as a Style Guru.
I grew up in the small town of Neoga, Illinois with three sisters. Each of us are the same size with very different styles. Because of this, I had an amazing amount of options when it came to putting outfits together. After transferring to Illinois State University I had to make the adjustment of not having any closets, but my own to look through. It was difficult, but I pulled through. In all seriousness, leaving my tiny town has helped me and my closet grow.
Since the age of 15, I have been singing and playing guitar. What started out as a hobby has turned into something I am able to do for a living. While attending auditions, I learned quickly that I needed to stand out. Being fashion-forward is the best way to do that. Â Performing has had a large influence on how I dress. I try to pick the outfits that make me feel confident. It makes a huge difference when I am on stage
This outfit is simple, but it is one of my favorites. A heeled bootie dresses up the basic maroon T-shirt. I tied the oversized T-shirt in a knot for a more flattering shape. Most of the jeans I wear have holes in the knees, it’s one of my favorite trends!
I am eager to share my style with fellow Fashionistas. I am also looking forward to seeing all of the wonderful ideas the Style Gurus will be sharing this semester!
