Hey there, fashion people! My name is Alyssa Woldar and I am currently a sophomore at Penn State where I am majoring in media studies and minoring in business and the liberal arts. Fashion has always played such an important part in my life and I am so honored to be writing for CollegeFashionista and sharing the latest trends and fashions I come across at Penn State.
Is it weird that I have basically had an idea of what I wanted to do for the majority of my life? I think I was about nine years old when my love and appreciation for fashion started and knew one day I wanted to incorporate it into my career. Growing up only 45 minutes outside one of the greatest cities and one of the fashion capitals of the world, New York City, has definitely influenced my passion for fashion.
In my opinion, fashion is a way for people to express their individuality. It works as a confidence booster for people everywhere to go out and show off whom they really are. Fashion isn’t about impressing people by the different articles of clothing or bags you own or that you are able to keep up with the latest trends, it’s about adding your own personal style to each and every outfit you put on.
I try to keep up with the latest trends as best as I can; however, my personal style is to keep things more simple. I tend to wear a lot of black, white and grey and there are a few articles of clothing I don’t think I could live without in my wardrobe. One of them being ripped jeans. I just love them; they’re an article of clothing that can just add a little extra to any outfit. Graphic T-shirts and sweaters are two articles that are essential to wardrobe. There’s something about graphic T-shirts make any outfit a little more interesting and sweaters are just so comfortable and can work with whatever style you’re looking to go for. Because I tend to dress more on the simple side, I like to wear fun statement necklaces that add a little something to whatever I am wearing. No matter how simple your outfit may be, accessories are the perfect tools to giving your outfit your own personal flare.
I hope you have enjoyed hearing a little bit about me and my fashion style! Check back in with CollegeFashionista on the first of every month to keep up with the latest trends and fads at Penn State!
