Hey! My name is Amanda Benedetto and I am currently a Fashion Merchandising major and Event Management minor at Central Michigan University. This will be my first semester as a CollegeFashionista Style Guru, and I’m thrilled to be presented with such a great opportunity!
Growing up in a family who loved fashion and was involved in the industry sparked my love of fashion early. My stepmom attended FIT high school and my dad attended FIT for a period of time. They still work in the retail industry today. I was always enamored by their jobs and how much they loved what they did. They exposed me to the glamorous world of fashion at a young age. At five years old, IÂ would host my own fashion show after a long day of shopping.
The people in my life as well as my many experiences while traveling have shaped my fashion story. I have been fortunate enough to have parents who have allowed me to travel the world. Through my travels to Italy, Germany, France, Spain, Australia and New York City, I have gained different perspectives on fashion around the world. This has truly shaped my own style. I would not say I fit into one style category. So many things inspire me, which helps me embrace all fashion has to offer. I truly believe that being in the fashion industry is my calling. Fashion has always been a creative outlet and a world of endless opportunities for me. I hope that while I’m a Style Guru I can inspire others. My dream is to one day own my own store and travel the world, not only making a difference in the fashion world but also giving back. I am looking forward to a fashionable summer!
