Hello all fashion enthusiasts!
My name is Amanda Longobardi and I study Public Relations and Journalism at Monmouth University in hopes of fulfilling my dreams of becoming a fashion publicist! Style has been an essential part of my life for as long as I could remember. As a young girl, my mother would bring me to shop at places like Bloomingdales, Nordstrom or Macy’s to the point where it was a weekly tradition. My back to school outfits were always picked out months in advance, matched perfectly, and usually included sparkles or cheetah print designs. I was a girly girl and by no means was afraid to admit it. I love fashion and everything about it. Every mannequin I saw I would undress in my head and put together my own outfits from the pieces that surrounded me. When asked what my hobbies were, the first and only thing I would say was shopping. When I’m sad, it makes me happy. When I’m mad it makes life tolerable, and when I’m stressed, it calms me down.
My style has an extensive range, in that one day I’m feeling completely boho-chic, whereas the next I can be a diva and pull out my cheetah fur coat. Even at the beach I try to deck out the diva with a big floppy hat and a casual yet chic romper. In addition to boho and glamorous styles, sometimes I prefer the sporty look when I’m feeling the gym, or a cute laxed look when I’m lazy and have to drag myself to an 8:30 a.m. class. On a day-to-day basis, my style matches my mood, but there is always effort put in to my appearance.
This semester I am so excited to share my styles with you all and show off the Monmouth University fashionistas amongst us!
In the words of Rachel Zoe, “Style is a way to say who you are, without having to speak.”
