My name is Amanda Neal and I’m a junior majoring in information sciences and technology at Penn State University. This is my very first semester writing for CollegeFashionista as a Style Guru and I couldn’t possibly be more excited. I’m really looking forward to showcasing all of the eclectic styles from the array of students who can be found in Happy Valley.
I grew up close to Philadelphia and the city has become a very important part of who I am. More specifically, Philadelphia has played a huge part in helping me develop my personal style. My style can be described as somewhat grungy, but always classy. I see nothing wrong with pairing a delicate floral blouse with my chunky black Dr. Marten boots. I even wore a pair of Chuck Taylors with my senior prom dress! When piecing my style together, I always try to think out of the box, and I encourage you to do the same! My future posts will be sprinkled with head-turning outfits and trends that will (hopefully) be easy to duplicate and mix and match until they meet your personal style.
While I’m not gushing over the latest trends and mindlessly scrolling through the Women’s Fashion tab on Pinterest, I enjoy playing around with my vast vinyl record collection and listening to the sounds of my favorite bands through my record player. I’m convinced I was born in the wrong decade, and this perception of mine definitely shines through when I’m deciding on what to wear.
Fashion holds an important place in my heart. It’s a special way of expressing yourself and making yourself stand out in a crowd. Fashion is timeless and style is eternal. I look forward to capturing all the different styles I find on campus and sharing them with you this semester!
