Hi Fashionistas/os my name is Amanda Spencer. I am a junior Advertising/Public Relations major at Penn State University. This is now my second semester contributing to CollegeFashionista! The CollegeFashionista community creates such an inspiring environment and opens many doors. I have not only grown as a writer and a photographer but as a Fashionista. My experience at CollegeFashionista inspired me to pursue a fashion PR internship this past summer. I was able to point out trends and brand bloggers like I did for CollegeFashionista. I am excited to see what other creative opportunities are presented because of my experience as a Style Guru.
My favorite brand is Free People but I like to mix a lot of different brands to create my looks. With fall coming up, my go-to look is pairing sweaters and shorts. I love the current lace-up trend that details the sweater. Everyone needs a pair of denim cut-offs to pair with the warm weather. I also have a large collection of chokers that I love to layer.
I get a lot of my inspiration from traveling. When I travel I am inspired by different trends around the world. I love mixing new pieces from different countries throughout my wardrobe. I am studying abroad in Paris next semester and look forward to extend my closet to the latest Parisian trends while I’m there.Â
In the future I want to pursue a career in social media management and being a Style Guru allows me to practice those skills. This semester I joined the CollegeFashionista Social Media Society where I can also understand the strengths of social media especially in fashion.
