Hello, Fashionistas/os! My name is Amber and, coming this fall, I am a junior at Kent State University. I am studying Fashion Design with a minor in Marketing. This is my second semester writing for CollegeFashionista and I couldn’t be more excited!
Personally, I am a no fuss type of girl; I enjoy the simple things especially classics. Classic songs, movies and especially garments. I think there is nothing better than a capsule wardrobe crafted from classic pieces. Since I am studying abroad next semester to Hong Kong, I have made it my mission this semester to build a capsule wardrobe. A few of my favorite classic pieces have to be a button-down denim shirt, aviators and Converse. I find that these pieces can be worn with many different outfits ,played up or down, and when worn together they can produce a timeless quality in the outfit.
Layering is also an important feature of an outfit as Ohio is notorious for many weather changes within a day. I have walked to class from my dorm and have been cold, hot and experienced a quick rain storm along the way. I find that a capsule wardrobe is big on layering ,which not only adds new life to pieces, but allows me to make minor adjustments to my outfits as the day or weather changes.
My future goals for the semester are to tailor my look to be more effortless and simple, get involved with the Fashion Student Organization, continue writing on my beauty blog and make more time for me this semester. All-in-all, I look forward to writing for CollegeFashionista and wish everyone the best of luck with this school semester.
