Hello, fabulous readers! My name is Ameena Ashraf and I am a freshman at George Mason University. From watching Fashion Police to scavenging through clothing racks, fashion has always been an interest of mine. Growing up in a simple family, fashion was quite difficult for me to execute with only a few hand-me-down T-shirts, bell-bottom jeans and Skechers. But with time and the mercy of the fashion heavens, I was graciously saved.
The light of fashion hit me, and probably every other Fashionista, when I first watched Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City. Wow. That woman had class and confidence as she would strut down New York City in her Christian Louboutin heels. I knew fashion had come into my life and I have loved it ever since.
To limit my style to one word would be completely unjust. One day, I could be rocking a super chic, crisp outfit, while the next day I could be seen in my good ole comfy jeans. My outfit depends on how I am feeling that specific day, which makes the whole process of fashion fun to me because I never know what to expect out of myself. To be bold and brave or comfy and cute? That is the question.
As you can see from the pictures, this is one of my go-to comfy looks. You can never go wrong with a pair of loose Levi Brand Jeans and a graphic T-shirt. I was originally going to pair this outfit with Converse All-Stars, but with only a few days left of summer, why not throw on my brand new sandals from ALDO? I added a pair of sunglasses and was ready to hit the streets.
I hope to explore more into the fashion realm with CollegeFashionista. I can’t wait to show everyone my perspective on style, as well as see what other Fashionistas/os have in store. Let’s make this an audacious, fashion-forward and, of course, RAD semester!
