Hello there fellow Fashionistas and Fashionistos! I am so excited to get this semester started as this is my first semester working as a Style Guru. My name is Ameerah and I’m a student at Towson University in Towson, Maryland. I’m a commuter, meaning I don’t get to spend as much time on campus as the average student. With that being said, it makes me that much more excited when I spot someone with extreme style walking around on campus. I’m an English major and hope to one day become an editor for a high-end magazine like Vogue.
I grew up in a small town in Maryland, so I didn’t exactly get to see people wearing Chanel or Prada everyday, so I looked forward to reading fashion magazines, especially Vogue! From there, I began begging my mom to take me shopping 24/7. You can always spot me in the library browsing my favorite blogs and keeping up with the gossip on my favorite entertainers. I want to know who Kim Kardashian is wearing this week and who Taylor Swift will be breaking up with next week.
What I love about fashion most is that everyone can take what they like from it and turn it into their own style. Everyone is different and they incorporate different pieces into their wardrobe in different ways. It never seizes to amaze me how each person can take the same clothing item and wear it in a different way.
This semester while working as a Style Guru, I’m looking forward most to discovering new styles, meeting new people, and understanding their journey. I cant wait to share these fellow Marylanders’ styles with you!
