Calling all Fashionistas! My name is Anastasia and I’ll be one of the new Style Gurus for this summer from the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. That’s right, the big city full of bright lights, passionate people, amazing food and, of course, the fashion, brought home from influences all around the globe! I’m super excited to be joining the CollegeFashionista team this year and can’t wait to show off my wardrobe, as well as, the street styles that inspire my everyday life. I’m back in my hometown for the most part of summer break, so, I’ll be representing Pittsburgh’s CollegeFashionistas, as well.
I’ll be entering my sophomore year as a fashion design major this upcoming fall semester and although, summer just started, I’ll be quietly counting down the days until I’m back in my rightful home again, NYC. I can’t remember a time in my life when fashion wasn’t a huge part of my life and I look forward to all the exciting things to come from it. You’d think by now that my family and friends wouldn’t continuously say “we aren’t going to a fashion show” every time I leave the house, but not all dreams come true. You see, fashion is more than a passion and creative outlet for me, it’s my identity. I’m here to be the voice that inspires and influences the fashionistas out of all of you with confidence.
My personal style isn’t so easily defined. It mostly has to do with my personality for the day and where exactly I’m going. I tend to gravitate toward edgy and sporty pieces, but I love to dress up and have fun with my fashion. Lately, accessorizing with jewelry is how I really make a statement. Oh, and shoes! They’re my guilty pleasure. One of my favorite parts about fashion is actually receiving hand-me-downs or finding old accessories while scavenging through closets for the real vintage pieces. You’ll be more likely to find me searching through the racks of thrift stores now than in the fast fashion stores. As my fashion design gene would have it, I love to up-cycle clothes too (less money and time for truly unique garments? Yes, Please)!
