Hey there! My name is Angela Beckett and I am a fashion merchandising and design student at Virginia Tech. I didn’t know at first what I wanted to do in college and I’ve always been interested in fashion. Now that I’ve gotten my toes wet, I am absolutely in love with it. This internship will help me see what I can do and hopefully get me inspired for my next creations!
I would consider my style…well me! I don’t have a specific style. My go to outfits consist of jeans, a T-shirt, and comfy shoes that I could run in. If I had to call it something, I’d call it comfy casual. Also, I like to use accessories. Mainly necklaces, from big and bold to small and simple. And earrings are an essential part of any look.
My style reflects my personality. I consider myself easy going, thoughtful, and crazy (in a good way). I like to shine and maybe that’s why I’m drawn to sparkly things. Pieces that make me feel good when I put them on is what I look for in anything I buy. People shouldn’t try too hard to become something they see on social media or in a magazine.
My striped sweater is one of my favorite pieces. it makes me feel like my Mom is hugging me even though she is five hours away. Over the knee boots are very trendy right now. So of course I have a pair and usually wear them with jeans or tights. As I said before, I enjoy sparkly things. Therefore, my earrings give my outfit that kick it needs.
Any advice I could give would be to style yourself for yourself. Don’t let other people tell you how to dress. If you like stripe tights, wear stripe tights. If you are in love with ear piercings, get as many as you want. Do what makes you happy!
