Hello everyone! I am so excited to be a part of the CollegeFashionista Style Guru team for the spring semester! My name is Ania Melby (pronounced on-ya). I attend the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, and I am a junior. I am majoring in retail merchandising and minoring in business management. It took me awhile to figure out how to turn my passion for fashion, creative writing, travel, and photography into a career, but eventually I realized retail merchandising was a really great way to incorporate them all while furthering my education in fashion and business.
Fashion is a part of my everyday life. I surround myself with inspiration by following many different fashion icons on social media sites such as Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, and Youtube. Being able to see other people throw crazy things together and make it work inspires me to step out of my own comfort zone and try new things.
For this look, I chose to go edgy yet comfortable. I am wearing an oversize, navy blue jacket, a black knit dress, and original Adidas paired with a faux leather backpack. The oversize jacket is the perfect piece to dress down any outfit or simply keep you warm when it’s slightly chilly outside. My favorite piece of the whole outfit is the black faux leather backpack. It’s practical yet chic–and bonus points for lots of room for goodies! Even though this outfit has comfort written all over it, it’s still fashion forward and on trend.
