Hello my fellow Fashionistas/os!
I’m Anna and I’m a current junior at Fordham University where I’m pursuing a degree in Journalism. This is my first semester writing for CollegeFashionista and I am so looking forward to scouting out and writing about all of the fashionable students on my school’s campus!
Ever since I was a youngster, I’ve always been a huge fan of fashion and loved playing around and putting together unique outfits (one of my more famous ones being my Snow White dress that I wore for two months straight when I was three). As I’ve gotten older, however, my interest in the fashion industry has developed, just like my personal style.
If someone was to ask me to describe my style, I honestly wouldn’t know where to begin. It’s almost impossible to describe it, as it changes nearly every day. One day I’m in a blazer and loafers, and the next I’m breaking out a fringe jacket and chelsea boots. I think that is one of my favorite things about fashion; how it has the ability to change at any given point. You can wake up and be whoever you want to be depending on the day, your mood or even the weather. Want to be decked out in an all black ensemble and then rock a dress and sandals the next day? Awesome, do it! Clothes give you the ability to express yourself without saying anything and the options are limitless.
Even with all the options out there however, there are a few looks that remain on my list of favs. I’m a major supporter of wearing all black, but one of my favorite things to do when the weather is a little gloomy, is to wear a piece that brightens everything up or statement pieces that add just the right amount of sparkle. For example, my red coat and gold necklace. I’m also always on the lookout for pieces with a little hidden pizazz. This white button-up looks simple at first glance, but the snazzy stripe of sequins on the side guarantees that it will look flawless with or without a jacket. I’m also a huge fan of items that look killer and feel great (if anyone has found a pair of heels that are 100 percent comfy and blister free, let me know). Walking around New York can be exhausting and wearing painful shoes only makes the trek from SoHo to the Upper East Side more frustrating. Finding shoes like my calf hair loafers, which are comfortable enough to sleep in, are a total win for a gal like me!
Getting to work with things I enjoy, like fashion and photography, is super exciting and does not feel like work at all – which is what I like to call a win-win. So be on the lookout for all of my fashion adventures this semester and to see the fantastic looks my school’s trendsetters come up with; I can’t wait to discover and share them with all of you!
