Hello Fashionista/os, I’m Anna Zielinski! I am currently enrolled as a student at Columbia College Chicago majoring in multimedia journalism with a focus in magazine editorial writing. Prior to this, I studied fashion design at Harper College, where I earned my associate degree. One day I hope to write for or own a fashion magazine.
Fashion and style-wise, I don’t really have a set look. Working in retail for the last three years, I have seen it all and my style tends to be a mix of current trends or my mood for the day.
I wouldn’t say I have a favorite designer because I am constantly coming across new names all the time, but you will always hear me raving about Betsey Johnson, Christian Siriano and about how I wish Heatherette was still a thing.
I would like to say I dress as fashionably as my icons on a daily basis, but that would be a lie. I love my Pink yoga pants and a school spirit hoodie just as much as the next girl, but when I do get the chance to dress up, I break out all my bests.
Today, I am sporting a transition between spring and summer with a baby blue lace bodycon dress from Charlotte Russe, blue floral sandals by Dexter for Payless and the bag is of course, Besteyville by Betsey Johnson. My nails, which I actually did myself, are the imPRESS press-on nails in the color “Big Flirt” (The set came with those bows!). I took advantage of the two for 10 dollar sunglass deal from Charlotte Russe just in time for summer and snagged these white shades that go perfectly with any outfit!
Having spent a year living and studying in the city, my focus on fashion and trends has grown immensely. I finally understand the meaning of “city style” and “street style” and hopefully through my time interning as a Style Guru, I can capture some of these trendy folks and share them with the world!
Summer has now arrived, meaning there is more inspiration for fashionable attire since the weather now accommodates it. I cannot wait to contribute to this site and see what opportunities are just around the corner! It’s time to fit in by standing out and create some new trends this season!
