Denim skirts are big in the world of fashion. There are an array of different kinds including button-down, knee length and floor length, like mine. With trends like these, making them your own is crucial because it is what makes them truly unique. Adding the perfect accessories is going to be the turning point from being a trend to being trendy.
Accessorize with pieces that other people may not be into. Risk plays a huge part in the fashion industry and without it, clothing would look nothing like it does today. My skirt, in itself, is its own risk. The length and style of the skirt makes it a tougher piece to style which makes it all the more fun. When I tried it on, I knew I couldn’t let it go because anything that makes you smile is a must-have.
To put my own spin on the denim skirt trend, I went with a more vintage feel. I accessorized my look with an array of turquoise rings as well as a cuff, a Western belt and my metal-framed glasses. Clearly, I was prepared to head on over to Woodstock and sing along with Janis Joplin in 1969. Unfortunately, arranging time travel was impossible, so I settled for grocery shopping instead.
The most important thing to do when putting together an outfit is to have fun, and to create something that makes you smile. Smiling is an accessory that we take for granted.
