Hello everyone! My name is Armghan, and I am a sophomore studying philosophy and finance at the University of Pennsylvania. This is my first semester with CollegeFashionista and I am thrilled to be a part of this program. I grew up outside of Chicago, and rep the Windy City pretty hard in everything from sports to arts and music. Consequently, my fashion has very much been influenced by the weather; my fall and winter wardrobes are far more varied and versatile than the warmer months (although I do love summer styles) and my cold weather tips are quite effective.
My love of fashion was something I picked up from my mother and my sister—yes, both significantly more stylish than I—and simply turned into my own way of making a statement. In my opinion, the lasting impression that tasteful attire can make is severely underrated—especially when it comes to men. In addition, I think that fashion is an incredible tool in regards to self-expression and individuality; the clothing one adopts reflects a great deal about one’s personality, and adds another layer of complexity to the chessboard of social interactions that we all engage in.
I would describe my style as mostly classic with a bit of flair; I seek to emulate the polished gentleman’s aesthetic but usually add my own twist to things—in particular to distinguish the fact that I am still only nineteen. Many people infer from my style that I am much older, something that I am not too keen on. In this vein I always try to inject some splashes of color or creativity into my lookbook.
This look is a true-and-tested winter staple; a button-down shirt with a cable knit sweater, paired with fitted jeans and a camel topcoat (one thing every man should have). Cole Haan wingtip boots and a splash of color in the socks to add some personality. This look is perfect for a day out in the city, a first date, or a nice dinner with the family.
I’m excited for this semester and would love for you all to follow me as I go through it (link to my Instagram is in my profile!)
