Hi guys! My name is Ashley Hurley and I grew up in Northport, Long Island. I am a junior student athlete at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. My major is consumer apparel retail studies with a consumer retail concentration and business minor.
I’m an adventurous free spirit and like to keep busy and travel. As the sun rises, catch me on long runs or hikes on beaches or mountain sides in cute athleisure wear. Come nighttime, find me in sleek all-black attire in the streets of New York City. You’ll often see me eating acai bowls or munching on some dark chocolate treats.
I fell in love with fashion in fifth grade. I remember staying up late the day before school, picking out the perfect outfit to wear for the next day. In the morning the battle wasn’t over. I would change my mind and quickly try to pick out a different outfit and I would even call my friends to get their opinion. This cycle drove my mother crazy! She would always say “Ashley you’re going to school, this isn’t a fashion show!” but to me it was, everyday was.
As for college I aim for a comfy but cute look. For class I wear mostly black. Black leggings with a black long top and black boots is my go-to outfit . I then spice up the look with a chunky colorful cardigan to complete the comfy but cute look. Of course when a special event arises or it’s going out time, the same cycle I had in fifth grade begins again.
I believe life is a fashion show (sorry mom!). How you dress is how you express yourself. I can instantly look at someone’s outfit and know a little bit about the person, whether it’s their mood or personality. I’m excited to let you in on my fashion show and explore more of my sporty and fashionable life for the first time as a Style Guru with CollegeFashionista!
