Hello everyone and welcome to my world of fashion! My name is Ashley Kropp, and I will be representing the various styles throughout my college, Indiana University Bloomington! I am so honored to have been given this opportunity and cannot wait for you to see through my eyes and words how I see fashion!
It all started when I was given my first copy of Harper’s Bazaar. As I was flipping through the pages looking at all of the “What to Wear” and “Perfect Handbag for Fall” columns, I began reading. As I read through various articles, I realized how much fashion excited me. Back then I would think about my name being featured in Harper’s Bazaar, and I would quickly panic. My inspiration has come from not only magazines and the articles within them, but life itself. It’s hard to walk down a street and not appreciate someone’s look. We all know clothes are often an expression of our character or spirit. If you find a style that sticks, why change it when you can add to it?
Taking a look into my closet is like taking a look into my personality. I would say my style is cool, eclectic, yet comfy. I wear the classics, which for me are jeans, T-shirts, a great jacket, simple accessories and killer shoes. For me, putting an outfit together represents my personality. When shopping I gravitate toward pieces that represent my personality. Of course my style will change over time, but classic pieces won’t. If you were to guess what my favorite color is, it would be black. I’m very minimalistic, but I always add a little pop of pattern or color in my outfits.
If I were to choose a celebrity that represents my style the most, I would have to say Gigi Hadid. Who wouldn’t want to be a tall, blonde beauty with an awesome fashion sense?
As Bette Midler said, “I firmly believe that with the right footwear one can rule the world.”
