My name is Asia Inn-Souphomphakdy and I’m back at it again for my second semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista! For those of you just tuning in, I’m currently a sophomore at Virginia Commonwealth University in educational limbo (that’s code for, my path is TBD). If you’ve been reading my articles since day one: you’re smart, you’re loyal and I appreciate that. When I’m not tracking down my campus’ coolest and best-dressed students, you can catch me working at H&M or sleeping. If you still can’t find me, check my Twitter account and you’ll know exactly where I am and how I feel about it.
My current go-to style is minimal, neutral and quick (Well quick in theory, I still take forever to get ready). Now being the first year in many that I’ve had pure, non-dyed hair inspired me to take the same route with my wardrobe. I’m the girl that you see on Tumblr that gets a bunch of notes for winning the solid color game; the one that looks like she only shops at independent online boutiques and is the friend that over-played “Hotline Bling.” Instead of including my most frequented men’s T-shirts and array of colored mom jeans, I’m highlighting my favorite pieces currently in my closet. A necklace similar to the one seen in my pictures can be found here. Although its weight can take a toll on my neck sometimes, it so easily takes a casual outfit to a chic one. Another favorite piece of mine is my Chinese Laundry ‘Elise Ginger’ boots because they can serve as a plain piece or a statement, playing towards their texture and design. Unfortunately they were limited edition and are now sold out, but you can find similar ones here! Finally, rocking long cardigans has become normal outside of when you’re wearing those shorts you absolutely love, but know are WAY too small. My denim jacket is perfect to add as an extra layer. It’s a versatile piece because denim basically works with any color, so whether you’re heading to class or Kroger throw that baby on!
My opportunity with CollegeFashionista has helped me immensely so far from developing my writing to boosting my overall confidence. I hope you all decide to stick with me as I continue to grow and maybe even get cuter with age!
