Hello Fashionistas/os! My name is Aspen Fairchild, a sophomore at the University of Georgia majoring in Economics and minoring in French and Statistics. If you had asked me at the beginning of high school where I thought I would end up for college, Athens, Georgia is the last place on earth I would have named. I didn’t even know that Athens existed until two years ago, when I moved from Northern California to Georgia. But now, Athens, Georgia has my heart. There is always something to do and I feed off of the community and culture here daily.
Living in Athens has really allowed me to define my personal style. I believe your style reflects your interests, your lifestyle; clothes are an expression of who you are. As someone who frequents concerts, restaurants and coffeehouses, it can be difficult to dress for class. I like to be dressed up, but class calls for super casual. If you ever see me in a T-shirt and tennis shoes, know that I am hating every second. Nevertheless, I’m wearing them because I can’t walk from one end of campus to another in my Frye boots (but wow, I wish I could).
The outfit I’m wearing is what I normally lean towards: chic and dressy, but with that hint of casual to get me through the day. My hat and skirt are thrift shop finds, but my shirt is from Old Navy. My necklace is from Forever 21 and my shoes are Aerosoles (which are so cute AND comfy) from T.J.Maxx, so they are no longer available. I wore this outfit while hanging out and shopping on the weekend. I usually wear all my best pieces then, because I have to get my fix in somehow.
I can’t wait to see what the semester as a Style Guru has in store for me and I can’t wait to share all the fashion and culture Athens has to offer you!
