Good day, my fellow Fashionistas/os! I’m excited to spend the summer bringing to you the latest and greatest trends as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. As a senior at Illinois State University double majoring in Public Relations and Apparel Merchandising and Design, I look forward to utilizing both of my greatest passions and learning with you in an industry that is constantly revolutionizing one of the greatest forms of art—fashion.
As a double major at Illinois State University, I stay busy with classes and my two part-time jobs, not to mention a few internships. I am actively busy as the Student-Run Public Relations Firm Agency Director, Progressive Image, for the Public Relations Student Society of America Illinois State chapter. I am also an active member with our Apparel Merchandising and Design Association, where I get to be surrounded by fashion enthusiastic students like myself!
I have been working as a stylist for several retail companies since starting college. It was during my time as a stylist at my first job that I realized I loved bringing my knowledge of the hottest trends and informing my peers about preparing the best outfits for the right occasions. My own sense of style is always changing and my daily outfits are influenced by what is on my schedule for the day. I tend to lean more towards the casual but preppy style for a busy day of meeting with the many organizations I am involved in.
I am beyond ecstatic to be apart of the CollegeFashionista team for my first semester and I cannot wait for you to learn with me as I engulf myself into the ever-changing world of fashion. Get ready to learn more about this summer’s hottest trends with a new look on denim, tropical paradise influenced dresses, geometric patterns, the new touches of lace, fringe and crochet to the boho style and more! Do not worry Fashionistos! I am excited to bring to you some of the latest trends in men’s fashion, from the coolest of materials like khaki, styling joggers, picking out the right suit, what shoes to wear for date night and finding the right shorts for the best summer yet!
