Good day, my fellow Fashionistas and Fashionistos! I am pleased to be returning for my third semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista! As a senior at Illinois State University majoring in Public Relations and Apparel Merchandising and Design, I am passionate and driven to report about the street style on campus. This season I will be interning as a Style Guru along with being an editorial intern for CollegeFashionista. It is going to be a crazy, busy season full of developing skills in writing and style.
I keep busy during my days holding a position as an executive board member for the Public Relations Student Society of America. I am no stranger to time management. I currently work as a free lance public relations coordinator for a boutique student realty business. Along with that, I work as a sales associate for a major realty company where I get to utilize my fashion sense to educate my peers. My daily style can best be described as transitional-business-casual. I have so many activities going on daily that I find when fashion meets function, it creates a perfect equilibrium of style. My days consist of meetings, classes, internship duties and work. I am especially excited about my enrollment in the Parsons x TEEN VOGUE certificate course: Fashion Business Essentials. I find that having a wardrobe that can help me easily transition my look for any situation saves me time and sense. I am working on adding more color and statement pieces to my arsenal. I find I lean toward wearing skate high-top shoes lately. My favorite trend for men this season is the monk strap dress shoe.
I am beyond ecstatic to be a part of the CollegeFashionista team for my third semester. It is forecasted to be the season of ground-breaking trends. Minimalistic trends will be taking a back seat this season as artistic, eclectic and creative trends will be inspiring Fashionistas’ wardrobes. I look forward to learn and grow my skills in fashion and writing. Get ready to read all about subtle shimmer, high-neck tops, ruffles everywhere and decades like the ’70s and ’90s inspiring sleek style.
