Hello, everybody. My name is Autumn Miller. I will be a junior this fall at Purdue University majoring in Apparel Design and Technology with a minor in Law and Society. When I am not in classes, I enjoy going to all of the sporting events on campus. I wait out in line for hours before each home football game to get a front row seat. I am also team member for Purdue’s Intercollegiate Women’s competitive bowling team.
I have always loved fashion. When I was growing up, I used to draw clothing designs in the margins on my notebooks. My grandma began to teach me how to sew when I was 10 years old, and I have not looked back since then.
I have been able to participate in displaying my own designs in the Purdue fashion show the last two spring semesters. I have also had a design represented in the Red Dress Collection Fashion Show for the American Heart Association. I am hoping all this will help me to reach my goal of becoming a costume designer for movie productions or at a theme park. I am thankful for this internship, because I believe it will help me get my foot into the fashion industry. It will also let me share my love for fashion and will help me to improve my writing abilities.
I feel like my style is pretty eclectic. One day I can have a rock ‘n’ roll style and the next day, I can be a girly girl. Although I have a wide variety of styles, the one thing that is always constant is that I always have a bow in my hair. For this outfit, I am wearing Wallflower destructed jeans, a Rock & Republic sleeveless denim button-up shirt and Lauren Conrad gold flip flops.
I am thrilled to have this opportunity to share my love of fashion. Please continue to follow me every month to view the different fashion trends from the Midwest at Purdue University.
