My name is Aysia Mankin-Wong. I was born and raised in a city covered in fog and beautiful timeless Victorian houses. San Francisco is my safe place, I know it like the back of my hand. I am surrounded by diversity on every corner. I am constantly inspired by this gorgeous city by the Bay. I’m currently studying apparel and design at San Francisco State University. Fashion and the arts have always been an important part of my life.
Growing up with a single mother, she became my muse. I became mesmerized by my mother’s grace as she would put her self together.
My style is heavily influenced by street style as well as high-end fashion. I believe a girl can never own too many articles of black clothing. I love pairing up different textures while keeping the outfit simple. I also enjoy finding a piece that is bold to make a statement and add some umph to an outfit.
This outfit represents my everyday wear. I’m still loving mom jeans, I don’t think I’ll ever get over them. The mom jeans I’m wearing are from American Apparel. I decided to pair the jeans with a ribbed pink turtleneck, layering a black camisole with a laced trim detail over top. To finish off the outfit, I threw on some Old Skool Vans with fishnet socks, as well as a leather jacket for when it gets breezy out. I also accessorized with a gold Casio watch.
I’m super stoked that the team at CollegeFashionista brought me to be apart of the Style Guru Gang this spring 2017 semester. I can’t wait to see what’s in store!
