Hey everyone! My name is Bailey Rump and I am a freshmen at Savannah College of Art and Design, or SCAD for short. I am majoring in fashion design and am minoring in production design with a costume design concentration. Needless to say, I love fashion. I am so excited to be a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista this semester!
I stumbled upon CollegeFashionista while scrolling through the fashion category on Pinterest. I thought it was cool that young girls like myself were finding the latest fashion and beauty trends on their college campus.
My love for fashion started at an early age. I was only three years old when I started caring and making my own fashion choices. I refused to wear anything that was not a skirt or a dress. However, I really fell in love with fashion when I was in kindergarten and attended my brother’s first communion. I saw girls in beautiful white dresses parade down the aisle, and I wanted to wear their dresses! More importantly, I wanted to make and own one of the dresses. So when I got home, I grabbed a piece of paper and a pencil and started designing my very own dress. I designed the dress and my grandma sewed it for me. It was my first and own garment I designed. I have been pursuing my dream ever since! As I grew older, my passion deepened as well as my ambition to achieve my dream.
I would describe my style as a mix between classy, girly and eclectic. I love to mix simple staple pieces with fun, trendy and unique items. My fashion philosophy is to start with the basics. This sleeveless turtleneck from Theory is a perfect example. Next, I try to add something that is unique to my style. My black cutout-sleeve sweater from Rebecca Minkoff is great for layering and adds a bit of fun to any outfit! The skirt I’m wearing adds a pop of color that helps show my personality. These booties from Jack Rogers are my staple shoe for the fall and winter season; they are super comfy and look great with almost anything.
I am so excited to share the unique styles of the Fashionistas and Fashionistos on my campus at SCAD. Each and everyone’s personal fashion sense is so unique in Savannah, Georgia, and I can’t wait to share it with all of you!
