Hello, fellow Fashionistas/os! My name is Brea Cubit and I’m a California girl born and raised, but I’m currently a sophomore at the University of Missouri-Columbia. I’m majoring in journalism with an emphasis in magazine editing with a minor in Textile and Apparel Management. Evidently, I love to write and I love fashion, so it’s only right that I pursue a career in fashion journalism.
Typically, you can find me trying to be cute at a local coffee shop, sipping on a latte or shopping at a boutique. When I’m not out looking for ways to shrink my wallet and expand my closet, I’m usually at home. I’m either wrapped in a blanket reading up on my favorite blogs and magazines or watching superhero, reality or detective shows because Netflix and Hulu are my life. Judge me not.
Since you’ve made it this far into my bio, I know that you really want to get to know me. Well, I’m flattered. *Happy tear.* So, I’ll share some random facts about myself. I love basketball, all genres of music and nature. I’m totally addicted to French fries, but I can stop any time I want…just kidding. If you give me anything superhero-related, I’ll love you forever and if you give me anything with Batman on it, I’ll love you forever and ever. I like to laugh and make others laugh because if you’re not laughing, then what is life? I’m obsessed with jewelry, so much so that if there’s a day when I’m not wearing any, my friends think I’m going through an existential crisis. So, clearly, my love for accessorizing runs deep.
I honestly don’t have a precise aesthetic. I love so many different styles that it changes, depending on my mood. Sometimes I want to be girly and make my pleated skirt twirl in the wind, but other times, I want to be edgy and walk down the street like I own it. I wear whatever I feel comfortable and happy in, whether that’s something more minimalistic or something more radical. So, in an attempt to sound all philosophical, I guess you can say that my aesthetic is confidence.
Finally, this wouldn’t be complete without me sharing some of my favorite fashion blogs/bloggers. There are so many that I read, but the ones I really love are The Spicy Stiletto, The Fashion Guitar, Aleali May, Sincerely, Jules and The Blonde Salad.
Well, that’s a little bit about me. Basically what you should take from this is that I’m a fun-loving Cali girl who’s finding her way in the Show Me State. Someday, I plan on conquering the world of fashion journalism, but for now, blogging in my little apartment will certainly do.
