Hello to my fellow college Fashionistas/os! My name is Brenda Barrientos, and I am officially a senior at William Paterson University. I am studying Marketing and also minoring in Public Relations (I only changed my minor three times!). Like most of us, I felt lost for a while I was not sure what part of the fashion industry I wanted to be a part of. However, I recently discovered my calling and I am hoping to pursue a career as a marketing/public relations consultant for NASTY GAL.
Fashion has become a part of me long before college; if you know me, you know that I will choose to be overdressed rather than under dressed any day. Style is more to me than just being able to know about all the latest trends! It’s about creativity and being able to express yourself through essential pieces.
I love to travel, I’ve been to several countries in Europe and South America, and I plan to go to Shanghai and Johannesburg within the next two years. There is so much of the world I have yet to see, and my goal is to see it all within the next five years! Another one of my goals is to relocate to Los Angeles, California. I lived there for a year before, and it was one of the most spontaneous things I ever did. The lifestyle and the energy is something you can’t find anywhere else, it is amazing.
I am not your average, “black is my go-to color” girl. I love patterns and prints, I also have a newfound love for nude tone pieces. I wear all-white everything all year-around, I’m a rebel. However, now that summer is almost here, my recent obsession is off-the-shoulder tops. They complement my collarbones so well, especially if I am wearing a choker. Accessorizing is always a must, whether it is with my Ray-Ban shades or jewelry. A chunky heel is essential; I love the extra height it gives me and it tends to add that finishing touch to any outfit!
This is my first semester as a #RAD Style Guru for CollegeFashionista! I am so excited but more importantly grateful for this opportunity!
