Can you believe that a whole six months has gone by since my first post? I wish time would just slow down! I have learned so much since beginning my internship as a Style Guru, but I am confident there are still a lot of opportunities for me to grow and learn. So I am excited to continue my journey with CollegeFashionista this semester! Keeping up with the fashion industry is my absolute passion, and I am so lucky to have CollegeFashionista as a resource.
As the semesters fly by, I am starting to realize that one day (like next year) I am going to have to leave my little bubble in Bloomington and go into the real world. The real world is intimidating, but I have grown and learned so much about who I am. My wardrobe has also changed with me throughout the years. It has always been an outlet to express myself and reflect the chapter I am on in my life. A few months ago, I listened to an industry leader speak about the company she works for. She said that they always aim to be “trend-on” but not “trend-y.” This sparked so much inspiration for my wardrobe and I am hoping to also find Fashionistas/os on campus that are “trend-on” this semester, too!
I love playing with prints in my wardrobe because it is so simple to dress them up or down. I chose to style this cheetah-print jacket as a more casual look by pairing it with burgundy skinnies. The color has been really popular this season and looks beautiful against most animal prints. My black booties are my go-to right now because they go with just about anything, and they keep my feet warm! I also matched gold accessories to pull the look together.
Lastly, I just want to encourage you to check out my fellow Style Gurus’ pages! They all have incredible style and often inspire my wardrobe. Thanks for following my journey, and I look forward to sharing some rad looks with you this semester!
