Hello! My name is Bridget, but you can call me Bridge. I am in my senior year at Chapman University, majoring in strategic and corporate communication studies with a minor in sociology. I love people and learning about different cultures. A huge part of culture is fashion, which is why I am so thrilled to be writing for CollegeFashionista and getting to really explore what I love.
I strongly believe that you can learn a great deal about a person from the clothes they wear, and I find that to be very powerful. I also believe that fashion can be an incredibly empowering form of self-expression. Fashion brings self-expression to life, and that brings color and excitement into the world. Be bold, try new trends, or break the rules, but always be yourself. What you wear can have a huge impact on how you feel; if you feel good in something, you should wear it with pride. For example, I love wearing dark colors, and I feel my best when I’m wearing dark colors.
This outfit made me feel edgy. When I can’t figure out what to wear, my go-to solution is always to find something black (or everything black, like this outfit). I started with a simple black T-shirt dress and then added on. I actually borrowed this black Free People jacket from my best friend because I love that it gives the illusion of being leather when it is just coated denim. My boots are Steve Madden (a true genius), and of course they’re black. The only part of my outfit that isn’t black are the pearls on my choker. I think the pearls are the perfect feminine complement to this edgy, monochromatic outfit.
Well, that about wraps up my first post! I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
