Hi, Fashionistas! My name is Brielle Malanga. I’m from the suburbs of northern New Jersey and I attend school at Fairleigh Dickinson University, which is also located in a suburban area. Though I’ve only known tiny towns, I am a Communications major with dreams of working in a big city. To be Jenna Rink from 13 Going on 30 is my ultimate goal.
I like to think of fashion as an art; style is the visual of someone’s personality and can say more about them than words ever will. Getting dressed is probably my favorite part of the day. Whether I’m feeling sassy, edgy, girly or flirty, my wardrobe is the easiest way to express myself.
My style has been through multiple phases, but has settled at a constant of edgy-bohemian. My friends like to joke that I dress as if I’m Aria from Pretty Little Liars, but that’s definitely a compliment in my book. In fact, the jacket I’m wearing in this post is one that I saw on an episode of Pretty Little Liars. My favorite part of this jacket is the faux leather sleeves with the zippers. They give the jacket such character and a bit of a punk rock twist. Adding some edge to my look is something I picked up last year when I had the pleasure of studying abroad in England. The London look definitely impact on my wardrobe. The booties I’m wearing in this post are one of my favorite purchases from London, I wear them all the time!
I love to play around with patterns and textures, mixing and matching everything and anything until I’m satisfied. I believe shoes and accessories play crucial roles to the entity of a look; they can make or break an outfit. I also like to add a scarf to almost every outfit because I love to layer!
