Hey there! My name is Brittanie Glumm, and I am truly ecstatic to be able to say that I am a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista! I’m currently a junior communications major at Monmouth College where I just transferred this past fall. Prior to Monmouth College, I attended Marymount Manhattan College which is located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Not very many people are able to say that they attended school in one of the most populated cities in the United States, as well as attending a school located in a small town in Illinois. Having seen both city life and the not so city life, my eyes have truly been opened to seeing fashion as more subjective. Fashion doesn’t always have to be about rocking the most expensive frock. Fashion is about feeling beautiful and showing your personality through your style choices.
My love for fashion has grown as I have. I swear my taste in fashion becomes more and more expensive each year. I can remember as a child I would stand in front of Prada and Louis Vuitton and just stare in awe at their storefront windows. If only my 10-year-old self knew what her closet would look like in eleven years: I don’t think she would believe her eyes.
My own personal style choices can be pulled from many different outlets including how I’m feeling that day to what I’ve most recently seen on the runway. I can incorporate these choices into my own closet. Bloggers that I find inspiration from are Julia Dudko from SocietyGrl, Kristen Taekman from Last Night’s Look and Blair Eadie from Atlantic-Pacific.
When I’m asked about my future, I always end up saying that I would love to work in fashion! Though I am not studying fashion it is something that has always been near and dear to my heart. I make it a priority to know current fashion trends and basically stalk high end designers on Instagram. Like I said previously, my love for fashion is constantly growing and that is one thing that I hope never changes.
In this look I’m wearing mid-rise skinny jeans from White House Black Market and a green blouse from Chico’s. I paired my otherwise simple outfit with a pop of red and added a coat by Tahari Arthur S. Levine. My accessories came from some of my favorite brands: Versace, Burberry and Gucci. I added my Burberry animal print check scarf because it added an element of fun to my look. The bag by Gucci and Versace sunnies I chose to wear are my go-to pieces for the chillier months.
