Hey y’all, my name is Caitlin and I can’t wait to show off all the stylish Fashionista/os that I see on campus at Towson University. Towson is located only a few minutes away from Baltimore which means people are always pushing the envelope and trying out new styles. This is my second semester being a Style Guru, and I am so excited to be back with the CollegeFashionista family. I interned at Girls’ Life magazine for about two years, and then became a contributor to Teen Vogue where I write quizzes and surrounded myself with all things from the entertainment world. I am a self-proclaimed fangirl, and I often wonder what it would be like to be a Kardashian.
I often style my outfits based on what some of my favorite celebs are wearing. If I see a picture of Lucy Hale totally rocking the tights and shorts combo, then I will go home and attempt to put my own twist on the look. Whether it’s turning a tunic dress into a shirt like I did for this shoot or turning a shirt into a skirt, I love to find new outfits out of clothes that have been in my closet for years. My main goal in life is to look as chic and star like as possible without blowing my budget. As a college student, looking fashionable is important, but so is making sure my mom doesn’t call me freaking out about my latest credit card statement. Thrift shopping is key in my style, and there’s no better feeling than finding a pair of designer jeans that fit perfectly that still have their tags; trust me, it can happen!
I’m in my junior year as a mass communication major tracking in journalism and new media. Being a people person is a necessity, and that’s yet another reason as to why I love being a Style Guru. I love talking to new people, exploring different parts of my town and discovering new looks. My go-to outfit needs are strappy shoes, sparkles for my finger and a classic pair of sunnies. I cannot wait to show you the styles of Towson.
