My name is Cara Zimmerman and I am a sophomore at Boston University with a concentration in Fashion Journalism. This will be my second time being a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. My outfits usually consist of all-black with one stand out piece. You can usually find me drinking green tea and wearing my favorite black Chanel mirrored sunglasses.
Going into college most of us don’t have a true identity yet. We are malleable and able to be molded into so many different individuals. Our clothing is like our outer shell; it changes with us as we mature. This process is definitely something that I went through during my freshman year. I have turned to mostly black pieces, simple T-shirts, leather and neutral tones. How I dress gives the people I meet a preview of me.
Today I paired my signature Chanel shades with a vintage Prada top that is covered in black grommets. I think the top is edgy and adds cool detailing to my outfit as a whole. My boyfriend shorts are from rag & bone and are a little distressed.  Since my shorts are high-waisted I paired them with my cropped top. For shoes I’m wearing my Chanel suede booties and since suede is one of the biggest trends this fall, I was very excited to wear them.
My standout piece for this outfit would be my new school backpack. It has a chain detailing which adds something extra to the bag. To tie my entire outfit together, I wore my daily watch and bracelets and the bullet necklace I’m wearing is a real bullet from World War I that is covered in crystal!
I’m excited to see who I’ll capture this second time around and I hope you enjoy reading my articles throughout this fall semester!
