I am super excited to be writing my second STYLE GURU BIO. Last semester was only the beginning and it can only go up from here! If you’re not new to my articles, welcome back. If this is your first time visiting me, nice to meet you! Either way, I’m here to tell you a little about myself and my style.
My name is Carlita and I’m a 21-year-old student from Chicago. I like bacon, the color pink and I plan my life on dozens of Pinterest boards. I love living downtown and my favorite city is Las Vegas. I love fashion (obviously), but I’m really into formal wear. Do you want to know a few more facts about me?
I love shoes. I have two big tubs of shoes in my room. One tub is for heels and wedges and the other is for seasonal shoes like boots and sandals. I also have a shoe shelf for the shoes I deem worthy of the throne. Currently sitting on top are my gray VINCE Brigham open toe booties and a classic black patent leather Steve Madden pump. The purpose of the shelf is to make sure they don’t crease or get damaged in the bin. I’m super meticulous about the condition of my shoes.
I also prefer to not wear pants. This is kind of hard to tend to in the winter time, but in the summer, I wear a lot of dresses, skirts and rompers. I just feel more comfortable when my thighs and calves aren’t being caged by denim. When I do wear pants however, they’re always skinny and high-waisted. They make my legs look long!
I’m also working on accessorizing. This past dorm move-out came with a wardrobe cleaning. With that, I threw away all of my jewelry. When I plan my cutest outfits, I spend so much time picking the shoes and the clothing, that I either completely forget to top it off with a necklace, or I look at my jewelry and don’t feel inspired by it. One of my summer goals is to rebuild my accessory collection with exciting pieces.
Since that is out of the way, let’s talk about this outfit. This look is me in my most basic form. I’m wearing a blue romper paired with beige strappy wedges, both from H&M. This is definitely not my go-to outfit for a dress to impress event. However, I do love this comfortable, cute and chill fit. I’d probably wear it shopping, on vacation or to hang out with friends. This summer, if you check back every month, there will be a new post exploring accessories, beauty trends and new designers. Oh, and if you’re loving what I’m saying, give me a #RAD!
