Hey there! I’m Carlita. I’m a senior at Roosevelt University studying Business Marketing and Marketing Communications. I’ve always been interested in fashion and have been pursuing opportunities to mix it with marketing. I’m very excited to be writing for CollegeFashionista this semester and being another voice behind this brand!
To me, a Fashionista is someone who isn’t afraid to wear whatever it is she wants. A Fashionista trusts her own vision and is confident in whatever she chooses. My style can be anything from leather and military jackets to a sundress and heels. I like to break rules and wear white after Labor Day and mix gold with silver. Throughout my CollegeFashionista journey you’ll be seeing a lot of different styles and a lot of rule breaking.
This outfit is just that. The magenta sweater I am wearing is one of my favorites. Of course, you cant miss the cutout shoulders. That is what I love most about the shirt. This basic sweater is given a twist that you can dress down to class or dress up to the bar. With its versatility, I chose to dress it up a little with denim!
Classic dark blue denim has that “goes with anything” look and light jeans are more tricky to wear. Light denim is often associated with warmer weather and worn in summer. It is rarely seen as a complement to rich tones and vivid jewel colors.
Like I said, who cares about rules? For this look I paired that super cute bold purple sweater with light wash high-waist denim. I chose a lighter bottom because it’s slimming and season-less. Especially paired with in-season, beige, suede boots and a chocolate and gold accented wallet, this outfit brings this light denim into season.
I can’t wait to share with you more of my many outfits and the fashions of others around my campus. Since downtown Chicago is my campus, you’re definitely in for a variety of styles. Stay tuned.
Don’t forget to #RAD me!
