Greetings, Earthlings! My name is Caroline Darsono Lay and I’m currently a second year at California Polytechnic San Luis Obispo University. I’m studying Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. It’s my first official quarter being a fashion guru and I am beyond excited!
This summer I’ll be back in my hometown, Los Angeles, showcasing fashion in my favorite place. In a city that has so much character, I hope to find fun and interesting fashion pieces to share!
I think fashion is a great way to express yourself and if you love what you’re wearing you will most definitely look good. Many times, people forget how much fun fashion can be. Don’t get me wrong, I love runway-inspired outfits but fun popsicle prints can look just as good.
My personal style is anything fun with a little bit of edge. I love anything black, white or gold that has a fun print. In my outfit today I paired my out of this world jersey top with a basic white skirt. The white skirt really gives the shirt a more feminine look while also dressing it up. I like to pair bolder printed items with more plain things to not overwhelm the look. For my accessories, I wore my gold kate spade new york watch and my favorite double drop gold necklace to add a bit of glitter. If you ask anyone that knows me, they’ll tell you that you can always find me with a splash of gold in my outfit. Gold is my favorite color and I love the way it adds a sleek touch to any outfit.
If all else fails, wear a black boot. Black boots are definitely a closet staple and they pretty much can complete any outfit. I wore my patent black leather boots from H&M, they’re extra comfy and they give my outfit a little bit more edge. I also threw on my black leather backpack that fits all my essentials, including my camera, wallet, phone and other necessities, while leaving my hands free for ice cream or a must-needed coffee.
There are so many factors that influence outfits such as the weather, your mood and the occasion that makes it impossible to base a person’s style by just one look. I can’t wait to take you all on my summer adventures and I hope you’re just as excited to come with me!
