STYLE GURU BIO: Caroline Maimbourg

Hello fellow Fashionistas! My name is Caroline Maimbourg, or Carol as my friends call me. I am studying apparel merchandising and business at Indiana University. I am currently a junior, and  I am so excited to bring my creativity to CollegeFashionista for the upcoming semester!

I started loving fashion from a young age. I always loved putting outfits together, but my work as head of the wardrobe department through all of my high school career led me to decide to pursue a degree in apparel merchandising!

I am also a member of Delta Phi Epsilon. Some quirks about me are that I am absolutely obsessed with Chipotle and Bath & Body Works’ candles. I live in my lululemon leggings. Thrift shopping is my ultimate therapy. Lastly, I love having dance parties with myself in my car.

The outfit that I am wearing is one that I think truly describes my style, which I believe can be summed up through four words: preppy, sparkly and mostly neutral. The first part of this outfit I want to talk about is my sequined sleeved jacket. I absolutely fell in love with this jacket when I wandered into Plato’s Closet, and for $20, I had to have it. The brand is Faubourg Du Temple, and while I was able to find a picture of it on Nordstrom’s website, it was sadly sold out. This jacket describes my style with the neutral twill of the body of the jacket and then the surprising twist of the gold sequined sleeves. This jacket is perfect for the current weather because it is a sturdy jacket without being too hot.

This Old Navy sweater I paired underneath is great because it is a thick sweater that will keep you warm, but it also is thin enough to be layered underneath a jacket. I have been very drawn to this charcoal gray color recently. I love how it is a neutral, but it is not as harsh against my skin tone. My American Eagle Outfitters jeggings that I am wearing have been my go-to pants recently. I believe you can never go wrong with a good pair of dark wash jeggings. My black riding boots add the perfect preppy touch to this outfit, but continue keep it neutral.

As for my accessories, my Coach bag is the perfect bag because it goes with everything and can fit everything in it—even my laptop! As for my bracelets, I have an assorted bunch. I love stacking bracelets, especially with my Alex and Ani compass bracelet .
