Hello there, my name is Casmira and I’m a fashion design student at Savannah College of Art and Design. This is my first time interning at CollegeFashionista and I’m beyond excited for this opportunity.
I’ve been into fashion since I was a little girl, I started dressing myself in crazy outfits from the time I could walk and I have the embarrassing childhood photos to prove it. I love how fashion gives you the freedom to express who you are, and by looking back at all the weird fashion phases I’ve had I can get a glimpse into who I was at that moment in time.
I’ve been a huge fan of thrifting and buying vintage clothes since I was in high school. Thrifting and buying second hand has helped me develop my personal style, because I was able to try on different styles and decades by shopping in local stores. My current style is very much a mix of retro ’40s and ’50s meets modern day style. I love dressing like a time traveler one day and then dressing very current the next. I also hate pants, so I’ve become a master of making skirts and dresses appropriate for all occasions.
I currently attend Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia but for the summer I will be returning to my home state of Illinois to highlight fashion from the Midwest. I look forward to finding the fashion forward people in a state that’s not really known for its fashion scene.
