Hello fellow Fashionistas! My name is Cassandra Bailey and I am a sophomore at Coastal Carolina University. Whether I am in class or soaking up the sun on the Myrtle Beach waters, I take my passion for style each step of the way!
Jersey shore born and raised, I am no stranger to life on the coast. Incorporating the most current trends with my own flare of Long Beach Island charm, it is safe to say my style reflects my worship of the sun. They say that home is where your heart is, and if that is the case I know I am home when my hair is salty, there is sand between my toes, and my skin is golden (okay, maybe a little burnt). I can assure you without hesitation that I am home when I am as close to the ocean as I can get, sporting a sundress and sipping on some cool ice tea .
Away at school I embrace my inner southern bell. I trade in my sandals for cowgirl boots and get far too used to saying “y’all”. Being a Coastal Chanticleer isn’t too different from being a beach bum. In fact, I get the best of both worlds. Roughly twenty minutes away from the beach, I get to wake up each day and choose whether I am ready to embrace another day living the country life, or get away to the water and relax in my zone.
The best part about the oceans are traveling across them, a privilege I had just a few summers back. While studying European culture and navigating my way through Belgium, Germany, France, and mounds of food, my life, mind, and style all expanded! I roamed the streets of the fashion capital of the world, drank on good wine, and was high on life—what more could a girl ask for?
My experiences and each element of my life continue to reshape who I am—and that is the best part about life. My style evolves as I change…and change and change again. Life is full of opportunities to utilize your roots and incorporate them with the environments and experiences you create along the way. I see life as a time to take chances and explore, while forming the most memorable, and fashionable adventure. What is life without a little adventure…and a cute pair of shoes?
