Hello Fashionistas/os! Fashion is more than clothing by far, it is a means of saying everything you are or aspire to be without saying a word.
My name is Charnae Brown and I am currently a senior at East Carolina University. I am a Fashion Merchandising major with a minor in Communications. I am looking forward to expanding my conversation on fashion through blogging. I am excited for the opportunity CollegeFashionista has given me to express things I love about fashion with others and vice versa.
I have always been the eccentric child, the baby of four. With a full house of six, I soon realized how easily my nonverbal cues could establish a meaning. I’ve come a long way from the little girl in bright multicolored hair bows matched to a T with my Blue’s Clues tee shirt. I have transitioned to the shaved-haired girl who prefers sneakers over high heels. The beautiful thing is those two girls are still one entity and need to express who they are without saying a word. Fashion allows me to do that.
When it comes to fashion, I believe you can be fierce and comfortable. This outfit is one of my favorites because it puts that belief into effect. Nothing says classic fashion and comfort to me like Converse sneakers. They are the perfect combination of comfort and style and easily become the base of an outfit on any given day.
Although I prefer my sneakers over heels, I am a girly girl at heart. This being said, I love wearing dresses and bold statement jewelry. Sneakers and dresses to me is a winning combination equivalent to ice cream and cake. On hectic days where I have meetings, class and work. I need to be mobile but still look good. Statement jewelry would have to be the ice cream toppings. An eye-catching bracelet can easily transform a casual outfit into something special.
As a Fashionista, I am always on the look for new trends and ways to be stylish on the go. I hope that as you read my blog, something catches your eye and inspires you. Some of the most important things I want to share with others will never come from my mouth but from my ensembles.
