Hello! I’m Chelsea Silva and I am an incoming sophomore at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey! I am currently majoring in supply chain management and am very excited to start my journey as a CollegeFashionista Style Guru!
When I was younger, my mom would dress me up in leather outfits, funky patterns and every so often the classic flare jeans came out to play. Since then, my online shopping addiction has gotten increasingly worse, and my style has definitely changed. I personally love those days where I can just veg out on the couch watching Netflix wearing my favorite pair of sweatpants. On the other hand, I love coming up with outfits that make me feel good about myself, even if it is to go to class or just to hang out with friends.
I would describe my style as simple with a mix of edge and femininity. I personally love to mix and match my outfits. The best part of wearing basic options with statement pieces is that if you change your shoes, throw on a different shirt and maybe put on a chunky necklace…BAM, you have a brand new outfit. One of my key pieces in my closet is a leather jacket because it is so versatile, allowing it to be dressed up or down depending on my mood. Accessorizing is a definite necessity! These too can be mixed and matched, ultimately pulling the outfit together. A floppy hat or a pretty headpiece can give off a whole different vibe than without those pieces and can even make getting dressed more enjoyable!
In this look I am wearing high-rise black jeans paired with an off-the-shoulder floral shirt. To accessorize, I layered a basic black choker with a long necklace. For footwear, I found these super cute black sneakers that could be paired with any outfit. I love wearing items that show a glimpse of my personality and my bracelets did just that. They represent my birthstone, my school and a gift given to me by my friend. Finally, I wore polarized aviators to top off the look!
Fashion is a form of expression and I cannot wait to delve into and learn about different styles. I look forward to this opportunity, and hope you guys enjoy reading my posts as much as I enjoy writing them!
