Hey Fashionista/os! I am extremely excited to be a part of the CollegeFashionista team! I am a Public Relations major and Biology minor at the beautiful Texas State University in San Marcos.
San Marcos is located 30 minutes from the music capital of the world: Austin. From festivals to concerts of varying genres, Austin, Texas is a music mecca accompanied by Fashionistas and Fashionistos with much to offer in the fashion world. Naturally, these influences make their way to San Marcos, making Texas State a campus full of diverse styles.
Born and raised on the East Coast, my style adds to these influences and is a mix of every trend- new and old. Since my youth, I was ardent about never being labeled into one fashion category. My style echoed fashions ranging from American Eagle Outfitters to Hot Topic, and as I grew up I learned how to effortlessly combine all of these different fashions into one look. Today, I gather my inspirations from the world around me—whether it be nature or styles present throughout music videos. If there is one way I have always been able to express myself, it has been through fashion.
My friends are constantly asking me for fashion advice, and the best advice I could give them is that style and fashion is not about wearing the same things as somebody else, but wearing what makes you comfortable and confident. Whether it be high-end fashions that are plastered across the pages of Harper’s Bazaar or the trends we see at H&M and Forever 21, fashion is what you make of it.
I am ready and excited to begin my journey with the CollegeFashionista team. I cannot wait to showcase the many styles here at Texas State and give you a peek into the different trends that come about this semester.
