Hey style lovers! I’m Christina Lauerman, and I am currently a junior at Coastal Carolina University studying marketing and public relations. I’m so excited to be writing for CollegeFashionista, and I can’t wait to see what kind of content I come up with!
Ever since I was little, my mom bringing me has been bringing me to the mall whenever she was off from work and didn’t know how to keep me occupied for the day. I loved wandering around the department stores seeing the colors of the clothes and feeling their textures. I would dream of working there and getting to choose what outfits the mannequins would get to wear for all the shoppers to see. Now that I’m 21, I can be my own mannequin! I live for finding new clothing pieces and figuring out how to integrate them into my wardrobe by styling it many different ways.
Aside from just being a basic college chick, I’m also a proud sister of the Lambda Beta chapter of the Sigma Kappa sorority. I love showing up to chapter every Sunday and seeing what all my sisters are wearing. I’m a firm believer that your style is a strong representation of who you are and what your personality is like. With that being said, my style ranges all over the place, one day I will be wearing a tweed skirt to chapter, and the next day I will be in a band T-shirt and Converse. Fall and winter are my favorite seasons for being able to define your style. In summer months, it’s easier to just throw on a T-shirt and shorts and call it a day, but when those colder months come around, the wash of your jeans can completely change an outfit. In my opinion, the darker the jeans, the better.
This winter I find myself wearing a lot more black than usual. Whether it’s thermals, jackets, boots or beanies, I love how versatile black can make an outfit. In the outfit I’m wearing here, I just took a pair of basic dark wash skinny jeans, beat-up riding boots and paired them with a two-toned jacket (don’t even get me started on my love for two-toned jackets) and a beanie. I love the whole concept of two-toned jackets; I think they help break up an outfit, especially if you’re the type to wear dark colors like I do. I also think beanies are a staple item to have in the winter months, especially when you don’t want to shower and your dry shampoo is too expensive to be using it as often as you do. Overall, I can’t wait to see what other winter styles I bring together over the next few weeks!
