Hey there! I am Claire Schatz and I am studying public relations and psychology at Auburn University. I am beyond excited to be writing for CollegeFashionista this semester!
The incredibly talented designer Marc Jacobs once said, “Clothes mean nothing until someone lives in them.” Since I was a little girl, clothes were always more than just fabric. The fabulous embellishments and pink fur, as I pretended I was a princess, made me truly feel beautiful and important. The perfectly styled first day of school outfit would immediately calm my nerves. What always fascinated me was the way fashion creates unity. All around the world and all around different college campuses, women are waking up in the morning and picking out what to wear. We may have completely different backgrounds, beliefs, experiences, but could agree that those Givenchy booties are the cutest thing since Golden Retriever puppies.
My style is all about the details. I tend to have a little bit of the ’60s trends in my wardrobe and a lot of mixed patterns and textures. For this look, I am all about the layering. I am wearing a lace-detailed turtleneck underneath a simple black pinafore dress for an awesome contrast. To keep warm, I styled this with my favorite gray velvet bomber jacket. I am wearing black dress socks with my go-to heels for a school-girl effect.
I hope you all like this look as much as I do! To get my updates, follow me on social media! Â I would love to chat!
