STYLE GURU BIO: Clara Livingston

Hello world! I’m Clara and this summer will be my third term with CollegeFashionista and I am beyond pumped for these next few months! I am will be a junior at Carleton College this coming fall and I am an economics and mathematics/statistics major. Although most of my life is consumed with numbers, fashion and photography have been major creative outlets these past few years. I also love to play violin, do stand up comedy and ski (although this past winter left me on crutches).

This summer I am going to be traveling to Germany and England on a study abroad program from June through August, and I cannot wait. I am sure the street style will be incredible and there is a chance I may come back with more than a few new items for my wardrobe. I have love seeing everyone’s personal style now that it isn’t negative a billion degrees outside. Given Minnesota’s crazy spring weather it has been a long wait, but I think the warm weather is here to stay.

These past few months I have been adding edgier pieces to my closet. Think bomber jackets, leather and heeled booties. Throwing a worn jean jacket over a white shirt looks effortlessly cool and will remain in my daily rotation forever. You can dress it up with some cool boots, or down with some sneakers. Either way summer is the best time to experiment with new looks or revamp those classics. I have been taking a lot of inspiration from movies from the ‘70s and ‘80s where everyone seemed so confident and casual in what they were wearing.

Summer is an amazing time to discover new trends and styles and I am so excited I get the chance to continue to share them with you! Be sure to stay tuned for some awesome posts from abroad and follow me on social media, as I am part of CollegeFashionista’s Social Media Society. Can’t wait to get posting!
